“Community is a sign that love is possible in a materialistic world where people so often either ignore or fight each other. It is a sign that we don't need a lot of money to be happy--in fact, the opposite.” ― Jean Vanier, Community and Growth
Wish I had known. Wish I had known everything about my community. Wish I had seen the reality. All of my life I only relies on the things I hear, of the things I think and the things I imagine. I never even thought that Sto. Domingo is a better place to live. Yes I am living here for almost 20 years but, I was blinded by the thought that Sto. Domingo is a place of poverty. It is only a municipality that will never ever excel and never ever transform into an excellent one.
Never did I think that I was wrong, until I am awakened and see the best of Sto. Domingo. All the things I had heard, think and imagine was all wrong. Suddenly I am enlightened. I see the beauty of our place. Start from the church (St. Dominic de Guzman Church) onto its beautiful and amazing resorts, to the exciting activities and to wonderful, respectful people living here.
The Parish Church of St. Dominic de Guzman is the most known landmark in Sto. Domingo, it was built in 1820 through force labor. Workers had a lot of sacrifices and even shed sweats, tears and blood for the construction of the church.
There are also lots of beautiful and best resorts in Sto. Domingo like Barrios Kids Pool, Black Sand, Captain Mike’s Beach Resort, Costa Palmera, Jungle Beach Resort, Manhattan Beach Resort, Puerto Vista Resort, Reyes Beach Resort, Salukot Beach Resort, Villa Angelina Resort, and White Rock (Ocean View) that you can visit and build unforgettable memories together with your love one. Exciting events and activities are awaited by many people like the Sarung Banggi Festival, and Community Fiesta. All the Barangays are actively participating and willingly joined this kind of event. In here, everybody is friends. This place is peaceful. Only less crime is being recorded. Every people love each other.
